We’ve made a small change to the language in the special ed database in regards to documenting the need for special transportation. The text now reads “Special transportation with support of a bus aide or attendant required.” This is to comply with a change in state legislation that requires us to document in the IEP if a student needs an aide on the special education bus. Because all of our sped busses have at least one aide on board, we have opted to add this language to the IEP of every student that requires special ed transportation.
There is no change in the way that you need to document this need in students’ IEPs. This is just to make teachers aware of the change and why this text has be
en added.
