More sped database changes! These will be introduced more thoroughly at the Saturday IEP day, but here’s a quick overview of recent changes in the sped database:
A. IEP Checklist updated—we’ve eliminated one PWN from the eligibility determination process. Woohoo—less paperwork! There are now only two PWNs that are required as part of the three year process:
- The first PWN is needed after the pre-evaluation, before the eligibility meeting noting that you’re going to begin the evaluation and then meet to determine eligibility (this used to be two separate PWNs).
- The second PWN is to summarize the ESER/IEP meeting and implement the IEP (assuming the student is eligible).
B. New Checkbox on ESER Signature Page—a checkbox has been added on the ESER signature page to note that “Parents received a copy of this report.”
C. Changes to “Parent and Team Agree To” on PWN—The drop down list on the final PWN field has been updated to include 4 new options:
- Implement agreed-upon IEP immediately. IEP and ESER have been sent to parents.
